The hotel was nice and easy to locate. The room was clean and staff was very friendly. Restaurants near by. Pet friendly, that is very important to us.
This place has old charm. I stayed here for a birthday weekend and the room was great, loved that it had a window that could open and window shutters instead of blackout curtains. It was nice to have the military trumpets as my morning wake up call. Although, you can hear your next door neighbors noise it wasn’t super loud and people respected the quiet hours. I would suggest that the hotel check the mini fridge before guests use the rooms if I had stayed a little longer I would’ve said something. The mini fridge did not keep any of my food cold that I had to throw away and repurchase because it was meant for a morning hike.
Spacious two queen bed room. This place is old so I was a little iffy about it but it’s pretty well maintained. Room and bathroom were clean. It’s centrally located to go around Monterey and Carmel too. They have a restaurant that has happy hour daily except for NYE apparently. A couple things suggestions…doormats to wipe your shoes before going into the room. It’s been raining and it was gross to bring wet shoes into the room. They need signs telling people not to leave their car in the driveway when checking in. A couple inconsiderate guests blocked both driveway lanes backing up traffic for people wanting to enter the property to park. Pillows were a little flat. Btw if you’re a light sleeper you might want to ask for a room that doesn’t have one above it. You can definitely hear people walking around.
Casa Munras Garden Hotel & Spa is located right in the heart of Monterey and has become our go-to place to close out the year and welcome the new one. From check-in to check-out, everything was seamless—even though we booked through a third-party site. Parking is first come, first served, which was manageable. Our room was exceptionally clean and very cozy. We stayed in a king room with a fireplace, which made the stay even more enjoyable, and the heater worked perfectly. The only minor downside was that the coffee maker, mugs, and creamers were located in the restroom, which felt a bit inconvenient. Other than that, the grounds and facilities were well maintained, and despite the rain, there was no flooding anywhere on the property. Overall, it was a great stay. Would we stay here again? Absolutely.
Always enjoy our stays here. Great location, walking distance to downtown, restaurants and the wharf. Rooms are clean and comfortable, always a good nights sleep in the plush beds. Friendly staff welcoming you every stay! Kids love the pool.

Must try Spanish Restaurant! The ambience is nice, feels cozy. We had the Happy Hour brussel sprouts, croquets, meatballs, papas bravas and the Paella ( not a HH special) . The food was very good, seasoned well and cooked perfectly. We enjoyed Happy Hour cocktails, which are a great deal for $8. The hostess was nice enough to let us switch tables, to be closer to the firelplace. The bread pudding was absolutely delicious, with a creamy banana icecream. We were here about 12 years ago and it's as good as we remember it being. Can't wait to come back!
I have stayed here 3-4 times over the years. I always asked for a room with a fireplace and I loved the room. Not an easy walk to the ocean and restaurants, but it's an easy drive, or nice daytime walk. I walked at night and it started raining, because I said it was so close. Oh well, but Monterey is amazing. I got my PADI Scuba certification there, vacationed there, it has great piers - commercial and the fishing industry pier. Both you will love visiting. And many places to see, Lovers Point, a big scuba diving bay. There is Santa Cruz and Capitola. Both worth a visit. Have fun if you pick Monterey for a vacation. Don't forget the Aquarium.
