I'll start this off by saying I don't often leave reviews, good or bad. But my stay here was exceptional and I want to make sure those who made it great are commended! I recently stayed at Casa Munras and loved my time at this beautiful property. When we got to our room it was very spacious with a wonderful fireplace, perfect for the four of us. We only stayed one night so I don't have much more to say about the hotel itself except that it was clean and pleasant! I did go to the restaurant for their 7-10am breakfast on Tuesday. I was just about the only one there at 8am (my family was sleeping) and I decided to sit at the bar. Rebecca greeted me warmly and helped me with everything I needed. The omelette was delicious and the orange juice was so fresh and yummy. It's apparently delivered once a week from a local farm and I loved it. I even got two cups of it to go for my sleeping family. Rebecca told me they source as many ingredients as they can locally, and they even grow some herbs right here at the restaurant! After I enjoyed my breakfast I was walking around the place looking for the pool and I was quickly helped by a very kind man named Jose. I probably only talked to him for a minute or two, but we still got a joke in about the weather and my day was made brighter for the interaction.
This is a charming older locally owned hotel. Beautiful garden setting, charming little campus with lots of amenities. We’ve stayed a few times and always are happy we did. It is an older structure so you can tell the walls are a little “thin” but the staff are all lovely and the location is really great! I wouldn’t hesitate to stay again!
We had a wonderful stay at Casa Munras during our recent trip to Monterey. The location is fantastic—just a short walk to the coffee shops, restaurants, and shopping along Alvarado Street, which made exploring the area incredibly convenient. The staff were attentive and welcoming throughout our stay, and the room was spotless and well stocked with everything our family of four needed to be comfortable. We stayed in a king suite with a fireplace, which made the room feel extra cozy in the evenings. It quickly became our favorite spot to relax after a day out, and we will definitely try to book the same room again on our next visit. A special thank you to Erika at the front desk, who went above and beyond to help us locate a sentimental item that we accidentally left behind in the room. Her kindness and effort meant a lot to us. Overall, a fantastic experience—great location, comfortable rooms, and truly excellent service. We can’t wait to come back!
We had a fabulous breakfast. The avocado toast was delicious with wonderful sourdough bread. My boyfriend enjoyed the Steele cut oatmeal and I had a yogurt parfait with lavender honey. Our server, Rebecca was friendly and made sure we had everything we needed.
I enjoy my stay at this hotel. Is short walk from end hotel to front desk. I had nice big room with a fire place on second floor. The bartender was great not forget the owner, I hope it was the owner 🤣. Not to forget I had great dinner and breakfast at Hotel restaurant. Not forget Monterey had heat wave in March, yup a heatwave.
Estéban Restaurant - We wanted t try the West Coast Shellfish boil ...
We wanted t try the West Coast Shellfish boil and let me say it was an extraordinary entree! Perfectly cooked and so delicious! What really was outstanding was the.level of service at the restaurant! George the restaurant manager and his staff executed an excellent level of service while we were there! I would highly recommend this restaurant and I know I will be back! Truly a hidden gem of Monterey inside the Casa Munras Hotel Thank you
We had a lovely stay at Casa Munras. The hotel is charming and close to restaurants, gas stations and other stores. I didn't get a chance to take pictures of the our room, but I can tell you our room was clean, quiet and cozy to return to nightly after exploring Monterey, Carmel and Big Sur. The lobby is pleasant and the staff is friendly. Parking is about $19 and change per night. There's a Thai restaurant and a Denny's directly across the street. We will stay here again when we visit Monterey.
