I come up for business and not as often as I'd like because this place is as welcoming as it gets! Matthew at the front desk greeted me by name immediately. Amazing! I have only been there a few times and still this guy remembered me, my questions from last time and was ready for follow up suggestions as soon as I had checked in! I love the charming differences in the rooms. The heated pool and the always smiling staff. It feels like coming to visit family than coming to work on business.Be
What a gem. The recently updated rooms are nicely appointed and comfortable. This hotel is dog friendly. The restaurant Estéban even has a Puppy Menu, prepared by Chef Gus, and created and approved by his rescue dogs... and approved by my little pup — she enjoyed a bone with marrow. It was her #BestPuppyVacationMealEVER. And we humans were treated to several meals, created by Chef Gus. with seasonal and locally-sourced ingredients. Richard took care of us in the dining room, recommending dishes and creating perfect wine pairings. The hotel property is beautifully landscaped. We requested & received a room with a small refrigerator. There is a heated pool and phenomenal spa on property. The hotel is minutes away from Cannery Row, Monterey Bay Aquarium, the Monterey Bay Coastal Trail, Moss Landing and Elkhorn Slough and Kayaking hosted by Monterey Bay Kayaks (love them)
We stayed in the King Dlx w/fireplace and it was dreamy. The bed is beyond comfortable. The trip was a surprise stay for my husband to celebrate our 24yr Anniversary. The staff was so accommodating to decorate the room with some items I had delivered there. So when we walked in, it was absolutely beautiful. Thank again to the staff.
We booked this one day quick get away for our anniversary wasn’t sure how it was gonna be. When we drove up it is so cute we got there early because I had scheduled a couples massage and asked if we possibly could get a early check in. The staff was great they accommodated our needs got us a early check in! We booked a Standard King and it was perfect for the two of us. It was clean, updated and super cute. The spa was clean the jacuzzi was relaxing and the massage was amazing. The hotel was in walking distance to all the restaurants and bars on Alvarado! The gym at the hotel was great too! I would recommend to stay here and I can’t wait to come back! Thank you Casa for making our stay perfect!
The Deluxe King With Fireplace we used for a short getaway from the Bay Area was well worth the price for comfort, locality, service of the staff, cleanliness, proximity to restaurants, shops, and tours. Uber service and bike rental are easily accessible. The room had a beautiful view of the pool and flower garden, a REAL fireplace in the room and an ultimately comfortable bed. It was a true luxury at a reasonable price. We loved the restaurants and bars nearby and there is "NO" need to drive! A romantic and glorious experience. I dream of returning!
My granddaughter chose this restaurant for our Mother's Day celebration. We ate on the patio during happy hour and enjoyed every dish. I especially liked the mussels and the Spanish tortilla. Best mussels I've had in a long time, served with spicy fries. Dog menu kept the dog happy for a very long time. There is a fire pit and heaters. The polverones are a spectacular desert, three wonderful gluten free cookies on a puddle of dulce de leche. A bit expensive if you try all the tapas, but definitely worth it!
The Chef Gus Trejo prepared the most amazing meal! We had delicious lamp chops, dates filled with bleu cheese, fresh made country bread, locally sourced scallops and sardines. Yeah made ice cream and more! Everything was hand picked and local - Amazing! Richard was our charming server. He made great menu and wine suggestions and his service was impeccable! Highly recommended!
Family visiting from Spain. Decided to check out the hotel restaurant as it was getting late, and what an unexpected delight! We had the cheese platter, asparagus salad, and harvest paella with chicken (with seasonal local vegetables), and finished with 3 dessert dishes - home made port ice cream with honey cake, chocolate creme brulee, and apple tart with homemade cinnamon ice cream - everything was exceptional! The Spaniards were very impressed. Also, you have to try the sangria!
Spent 9 days in this area. Henna at front desk was especially helpful. Welcoming & knowledgeable. Can buy 2-day passes to the Monterey Aquarium (top aquarium in US) at the hotel for the price of one-day tickets. Executive Chef Gus Trejo served up his unique version of Spanish Negra Paella. Fabulous, and I’ve never before been a big fan of paella before this. He visited with us on the outdoor terrace that has heaters & fireplaces. Sent us off with his new warm breads for breakfast. Lovely man. Awesome chef! Reasonably priced. Great location.
We had a very nice stay here. Beautiful grounds, convenient location near city center, nice clean rooms (if a bit small), service was good, and the restaurant Esteban was spot on! Breakfast of buttermilk waffles with a fruit compote on top was amazing! All of this for a reasonable price. Highly recommended!
