We had a phenomenal meal at Esteban! The paella dishes were well worth the wait and the pulpo frito was to die for! But the staff truly helped to elevate the experience. They were very attentive and offered excellent recommendations! We will be going back every time we visit Monterey!
We loved staying there 2 nights ! We wish we would have ad an extra one but as we are on a road trip we had to keep driving south. Loved the size of the room and how clean it was . Perfect location and great staff. Thank you . Rooms: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Location: 5/5
The hotel was very clean and our room was big and comfy. Loved everything about our room, dining was amazing! We will definitely stay again. We had great services at the the spa as well.
Super Spanish food at Esteban in Casa Munras in Monterey!
We wanted something light and the "tapas hour" sounded good. It was a good location for us (not too far from our motel) and we like Spanish food. The papatas bravas (homefries in smoked paprika aioli topped by) were outstanding, the beet salad was good and the shrimp were too. Portion sizes were larger than we expected, though. The service was great. The cocktails and albarinho wine were good. We'd like to go back and try more items on the menu! Other diners were enjoying what looked like hamburgers and the dessert menu looked intriguing.
Casa Munras is perfectly located in DT Monterey. Just steps from Alvarado St, plenty of breweries and restaurants. I only stayed one night but I can’t wait to stay again, hopefully for a few more nights.
Super cute dining experience. Either inside or outside around a personal fire pit. We sat outside with a fire pit. We ordered tea, hot cocoa and the Champinone coca flatbread. We thought that would just be a starter but it was so filling! We will definitely be eating here again
Estéban Restaurant - started serving brunch weekends
I have wanted to try Esteban for a while, they recently started serving brunch weekends, so I had my opportunity. They have a very pleasant patio, with the weather we have had this fall, It proved to be a beautiful morning. After being greeted and seated the first thing that happened was a young man brought a bowl of water for my dog. Roo appreciated the thoughtfulness. My server, Stephanie, got things rolling by asking how my evening was going, so they are obviously adjusting to the new hours. I ordered a Bloody Maria to start, and it was near perfection, garnished with olive, 2 kinds of pickled pepper, celery stick and a grilled shrimp, it got the meal off to a good start. I kept things simple with an omlette with their Chorizo, Avocado and tomato. Served with crispy potatoes and toasted artisan sourdough, the meal fit the setting. Stephanie checked in often enough to make sure Roo and I were happy. I highly recommend weekend brunch here if you are going to be in the middle of Monterey.
We loved our stay at Casa Munras! The whole property is beautiful and I love how it feels historic but still fresh & clean. We were visiting Monterey for a wedding and the hotel location could not have been better. We borrowed bikes and rode into Pacific Grove & the whole experience was so easy and fun. Would definitely stay here again and hopefully for more than two nights.
