Estéban Restaurant - This is a wonderful Spanish and Mediterranean tapas
This is a wonderful Spanish and Mediterranean tapas restaurant, so it's great for trying different dishes and sampling a variety. We began with what you might call a Brazilian negroni. Here the gin was replaced with cachaca which is the Brazilian cane sugar liquor; this was superb with great balance of bitter and sweet. Our tapas were patatas bravas which was crispy potatoes with a spicy sauce, garlic aioli and a fried egg on top, absolutely delicious. We continued with a flatbread of oyster mushrooms, goat cheese, chili sauce and fresh arugula; this could be a great dinner all by itself. Finally, we shared a Paella del Mar which had lots of clams, mussels and shrimp and most importantly the crispy rice at the bottom. I will definitely remember this Paella. A memorable dinner, thank you.
Just there for an overnight. Nice Spanish vibe decor in the room which was very comfortable. Had a great night's sleep as the bed was very comfortable. Didn't have any food at the hotel and we had breakfast nearby. There was plenty of free parking on the street outside.
The food was delicious, specially recommend the iberico pork and the Del Mar Paella! Service by George was amazing and we enjoyed our dinner at Esteban.
Estéban Restaurant - Zero wait time! Super friendly servers.
Zero wait time! Super friendly servers. A great opening dinner for our 19th year wedding anniversary celebration weekend getaway in Monterey. The pulpo was the best. The farm salad was the best we’ve ever had! And we dont really like salads! The shrimp, paellas and desserts were all good! Sangrias were awesome and hits you just right. No creepers. The complimentary champagne was a plus! Our server Lia was so attentive. We stayed for 1.5 hours cuz we enjoyed it so much! Go on Sunday nights!
Estéban Restaurant - The chef's creations are very exciting.
The chef's creations are very exciting. We love all the tapas offerings starting with patatas bravas and the Spanish ham and cheese plate. The new to us Moroccan lamb was super. The vegetable dishes such as the baked/roasted carrots and seasonal Brussel sprouts and asparagus were all hits. Our table had assorted food tastes and we were all quite happy. We did leave enough room for desserts which also got high praise from local and travelling companions. The room does not have the best acoustics so we look forward to the reopening of the patio this coming summer.
If you're planning a trip to Monterey and looking for a luxurious and relaxing place to stay, I highly recommend Casa Munras Garden Hotel and Spa. From the moment you arrive, you'll be struck by the hotel's beautiful gardens, which provide a serene escape from the city. The hotel's spa is a true gem, offering a range of pampering treatments that help you unwind and destress. The staff at Casa Munras Garden Hotel and Spa are exceptional, always going out of their way to ensure that guests feel welcome and comfortable. They provided excellent recommendations for restaurants and activities in the area, which made my trip even more enjoyable. A highlight was dining at the hotel's restaurant, Estéban. The food was exceptional, with creative and delicious dishes that were worth the cost. Overall, Casa Munras Garden Hotel and Spa is a perfect place for a romantic getaway or a relaxing weekend escape. The beautiful gardens, luxurious amenities, and attentive staff make it a truly exceptional experience. I can't wait to return for another visit!
The hotel is centrally located downtown. It was a short walk to most places I wanted to see. And the room and hotel were exceptionally clean. I would most definitely stay again.
A hidden gem in Monterey, nestled near downtown. Ever since coming back from our Barcelona trip, I've been on a mission to find the best Spanish/Catalan restaurants in both Monterey and SF Bay Areas, and Esteban didn't disappoint. We ate in their courtyard and sat next to their firepit. The courtyard is well equipped with heaters. The staff was friendly too. Would definitely come back here again.
