In the Words of our Monterey Guests

Was attending a racing event at Laguna Seca during the day and wanted to stay in Monterey for the night before heading over to Carmel Valley the next day to visit friends. The location of Casa Munras couldnt be better. Right across the street from a great Thai Restaurant, a popular breakfast place called Wild Plum Cafe, and even a Denny's. Alvarado Street Brewing is just a few minute walk down the block, as is a Peet's Coffee that shares a patio with Fieldwork Brewing that has a great fire pit. My room was clean, tastefully decorated and equipped with a nice TV and internet access. My bed was very comfy; it contained some very high thread count sheets and a lovely comforter. A large ceiling fan and electronic thermostat allow you to customize your room's climate. - - - Check in was very efficient and professional with Lola at the front desk. I chose to park my car onsite, which was an "extra" but didnt mind because there was security. I didnt have time to use the pool or experience the Esteban restaurant onsite, but I very much enjoyed my stay and as I posted earlier, Casa Munras has an excellent location that is off the beaten tourist path so that its quiet enough to sleep at night, yet just a few minute walk from the downtown area. I will definitely be coming back!

The Casa Munras is a great choice when you're looking for a nice place to call your home away from home while in Monterey. It's charming, clean, well maintained, the staff is exceptional, great food in the restaurant, and it's conveniently located within walking distance of everything. We love staying there, and can't wait to visit again.

From checking in at front desk with Matthew to service at bar and restaurant, to the loveliness of the grounds and beautiful room, we plan to return often. A thoroughly wonderful stay.

Great and enjoyable stay. Took our Chihuahua with us. Hotel is very accommodating. Cleaning services provided on request. Very comfy bed. Home style decor. Coffee and plenty bath amenities. SEPARATE tub and shower! Took a soak in the tub. Heated pool with plenty of towels. Nice bedding. Opened shuttered windows, still providing privacy. Had a great vacation!

We’ve stayed at many hotels in Monterey over the years, but Casa Munras has become our go to. It’s not as luxurious as some but it has the attributes we’ve come to value most - our dogs are welcomed, an excellent walking location and the best restaurant we’ve eaten at in Monterey. To sit outside by the fire pit with our dogs is bliss and the food is spectacularly good, especially the vegetarian specials. The pool is pleasant and the roses beautiful.

Our family was looking to stay at a nice but affordable, and pet-friendly hotel within walking distance to downtown. Casas Munras Garden Hotel & Spa was a pleasant surprise and checked off all the boxes. We enjoyed the comfort of our clean room and beautiful landscape, and all staff treated us (and our two small dogs) like valued guests. The hotel is within walking distance to shopping, restaurants, and Fisherman's Wharf, as well as a short drive to Del Monte Mall and other local attractions. We will definitely return to this lovely hotel in the future!

This place was beautiful. I felt so comfortable here. Everything is extremely clean. My room was amazing and the fireplace was such a great added touch. We are vacationing across California and this has been my favorite place to stay.

Having a special needs child the staff were very accommodating to our needs. Thank you!

My Mother and I were on our last leg of our 10 road trip to Southern California and headed back to Sacramento but, we just could not continue, so we booked an overnight stay at the Casa Munras. We found ourselves wanting to stay longer but due to prior commitments, we could only spend the night. The Hotel was very clean and welcoming. The staff were very pleasant and generous in offering the small independent Café just across the street to grab a bite to eat. Due to Covid, your restaurant was not open. The room was very spacious and comfortable and the Hotel grounds were beautiful. We will definitely come back and spend more time at the Hotel Casa Munras and hopefully we will be able to enjoy your restaurant. Your place and location was a GEM! Thank you!

Casa Munras exceeded our expectations. The room with fireplace was beautiful; everything appeared to be brand new. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. We went to the restaurant for happy hour tapas and had paella one evening. The food was excellent and the bartender and wait staff were so nice that we felt very comfortable and taken care of. We are planning to return soon.
