In the Words of our Monterey Guests

We stayed at this hotel on August 26. At the front desk, we were greeted by a very pleasant young lady who checked us into our room very quickly at 1 p.m., as soon as we arrived, so we didn’t have to wait. We were also offered fresh fruit and a refreshing cold drink at the front desk. We booked a room with two queen-size beds. The room turned out to be very spacious and clean. The beds were very comfortable, and the bed linens were clean and pleasant. The pillows were also very comfortable and clean. The fireplace added a special cozy touch to the room. The bathroom had all the basic amenities: shampoo, body wash, conditioner, soap, and body and hand lotion. Parking was an additional $17. There are many restaurants near the hotel, so the location is very convenient. We wanted to eat at 11 p.m. and found an excellent restaurant/bar just a 2-minute drive away that was open until 1 a.m. Also, just a 6-minute walk from the hotel, I found a wonderful place where I had a great massage.

The room was comfortable and had nice touches like the fireplace. We had a good pool view and took advantage of the amenities like the pool, onsite restaurant, and gym. We enjoyed breakfast it was delicious, I had the French toast and my partner had a breakfast burrito. We shared it so I can attest both dishes were very good. The gym was described as a little small but adequate for vacationing, I used the pool for morning exercise and my partner used the gym. We never got to the spa as it was a short trip so I cannot say anything about that but the staff we interacted with were all professional and attentive.

The food is altogether excellent. The best pork empanadas ever. Perfect octopus. Great churros. Good Sangria. We ordered the date night Tuesday paella meal for 2. We had a slight hiccup where the seafood paella had been prepared with excessive chili. As this was a non-traditional paella, it was explained to us that this was the usual heat level. The assistant manager and server were very understanding and made up for it by adjusting our bill accordingly. There is live music and we cannot wait to come back and try the other items on the menu. Pizza looks legit. I would recommend this place to anybody looking for excellent food with reasonable pricing (for Monterey)

Wasn't too sure about us staying here when booking. Rooms seemed a bit outdated on the website. Turns out this place is a gem! They have great friendly staff, a fitness center that meets all expectations, and the rooms are cozy enough to get you to extend your stay. Jay went above and beyond for us at the front desk. We made great friends with him! Will definitely be staying here in all future Monterey trips ... also thank you to Susan for her kindness when checking out.

This hotel is absolutely beautiful. The grounds are breathtaking with all the folage and flowers ♥️.

First time and was very surprised of service/food and ambiance. Will recommend this restaurant to others.

This was a great place to stay. Really tidy, value for money. All the staff were very nice. Went with a 2 year old and we could walk everywhere we needed to. Will definitely book again

The rooms were very clean and the restaurant and bar staff were exceptional. We had dinner and breakfast in the restaurant and were very pleased with the menu options and the staff. The front desk staff were friendly and courteous. I highly recommend Casa Munras to anyone staying overnight in Monterey.

This hotel is a gem. Close to restaurants and the Golden State Theater. We are staying again.

So glad we ended up at Casa Munras. We had our four year old and small pug, and everyone loved it. We had breakfast vouchers for every day of our stay and it’s a great way to start the day. The food was really good. We tried the breakfast burrito, breakfast sandwich, oatmeal, and parfait and they were very tasty. The OJ is fire also. The best thing about our stay was the service provided by the staff. Especially Rebecca in the restaurant. She was always friendly, helpful and efficient even when busy. We loved chatting with her and just having a nice relaxing breakfast. Her helper Jesse was also so friendly and did a good job as well. Thank you guys! The pool was very clean and felt pretty good anytime of day. The room was comfortable and spacious. The grass area was perfect for doggies and was always clean as well. The location is great and we will definitely stay here again.
