This hotel is very romantic and charming. We checked in fairly late on a Friday night and the gal who helped us was so friendly and helpful. Plenty of parking onsite. Our room was located on the 2nd floor overlooking the pool. Nice room, comfortable bed, plush bath towels. The property is very spacious and tranquil. I loved the location of our room. Very walkable to lots of restaurants and shopping. Would highly recommend staying here!
The location is excellence if you want to walk to restaurants and entertainment. The Hotel staff was very responsive and polite. The restaurant on site was delicious with great service. Shrimp appetizers and oysters are solid. 200 years and still a going. This hotel is a gem.
Stayed here for a wedding and had a great time. The hotel is beautiful and John at the front desk was very pleasant and welcoming. The room was clean, cozy and well stocked. The bed was so comfy! The hotel is very central and we were able to walk to and from the venue, to dinner, to the grocery store, etc. Rooms: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Location: 5/5 Hotel highlights: Quiet
OK, you have to try the Brussels sprouts, Crispy Bruselas. We ordered them as a side dish and they are by far the best I've ever tried including my own. For Tapas we had the Croquetas and Seared Scallops. At this point in our culinary delight we realized we needed bread to soak up all the sauce deliciousness. My advice, order bread with your Tapas. For entrees we had Mussels and Clams and Pesca Del Dia (halibut and risotto) The mussels were fresh and expertly prepared. They were delicate - not rubbery. Again, the au jus was a bit spicy with a definite chorizo seasoning. Another highly recommended dish is the halibut. It was the best cooked halibut, flaky & light, the risotto was almost like Mac-n-cheese, but frankly, we ate so much we couldn't finish the risotto. Everyone was very attentive so the service was good. We felt so welcomed as even the managers checked in on us. Lastly, the ambiance is intimate and private even though you're at a major intersection in Monterey. If I could give 9 stars I would. Don't miss this best kept secret of Monterey dining
I have been going to Casa Munras for several decades. I have always loved it and I still do. I have not visited in many years because of the prices, but recently they had some mid-week specials so I went for it. I also have a new dog that I really wanted to have him experience Monterey and Carmel and this hotel is very dog friendly. I was greeted by Henna at reception. Let me tell you, this wonderful person made our entire stay fabulous. She gave us the BEST Room and was beyond kind. Rooms: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Location: 5/5 Hotel highlights: Romantic
We were in the junior suite and the accommodation was fantastic with warm fireplace setting and upgraded amenities as well as cosy bed and well kept bathroom.
