Wow! Dined here while staying at Casa Munras Garden Hotel for dinner. We arrived during their happy hour 4:30PM-6:30PM seven days a week. This is a nice surprise considering we were there on a Saturday night! We had the calamari appetizer which was great as it came with artichoke hearts and thinly sliced deep fried lemon as well as calamari, delicious! We also ordered the seafood paella and beet salad to share. Both were really tasty! The paella's rice had a crispy bottom that was delicious! There was a great variety of shrimp, fish, clams, mussels, etc the beet salad was amazing served with a small array of micro greens that really allowed the beets to stand out. I felt the happy hour had some great bargains and sharing the paella and beet salad was plenty for two. We never order dessert but ordered the homemade ice cream which was delicious! Their outdoor seating offer heaters as well as fire pits and music piped in hidden in the landscape. We really had an excellent time. We enjoyed our meal so much that we came back for brunch the next morning. My morning meal was a BLT on a croissant which was sooooo good! It was served with arugula, tomato fluffy eggs, with a jalapeño aioli that I would have purchased had they offered any for sale. Most certainly recommend enjoying a meal here when next visiting beautiful Monterey!

Wow! What amazing little gem Casa Munras Garden Hotel is! Hubby and I made a last minute decision to head to Monterey after seeing the weather forecast for Saturday, and decided to stay the night so we could really enjoy the area. Ended up arriving at 11:00 am and asking if we could park in the lot to ride our bikes until check in time. imagine our surprise to find that they had a room available for us early. I'm certain this isn't normally the case, but more due to the fact that it's mid- winter..... nonetheless, we were delighted! What a charming place we found! Rooms small but very nicely appointed, no complaints there. They offer free loaner bikes and even offered to store our bikes overnight if the room became too cramped. Such a lovely offer! We ate the on property restaurant, Esteban, for dinner, and that was so delicious we went back for brunch before checking out! They have a great happy hour 4:30PM -6:30PM seven days a week and we found the food to be delicious and there were some tasty and great value happy hour deals! (I plan to create a separate review for Esteban). Their pool is very nice and kept at a warm 82 degrees year round. We found people enjoying the pool from open to closing time. Very nice!!! The decor, landscape, and pottery are all very beautiful and beautifully maintained. They offer complimentary coffee/tea in the morning, which we also enjoyed. Their location is very convenient, just a couple blocks from the water.... We could hear the seals barking from the property! We will certainly come back ..... don't know when we've enjoyed a stay so thoroughly! A+

We were so happy with everything about our stay. What a lovely hotel with comfortable accommodations and wonderful staff. The location is perfect for walking to good bakeries and restaurants and was a nice stroll down to the wharf and Cannery Row. All good!

Excellent hotel in conveniente location Estaban restaurant has a great menu and love the fires in the reception area and outdoor dining area . Courteous staff we loved our stay

We had a lovely experience here for my birthday. We traveled with our dogs and reserved a table outside on the beautiful patio. The space heaters kept us cozy. The staff was attentive, the food was fantastic and they even had a special dog menu! Overall a delight, would recommend and will come back.

It was so clean and very nice. It was under construction so we’re definitely coming back to explore more!

Room was clean and comfortable. When we had an issue with the fireplace, maintenance came over and relit the pilot before we could even hang up with the front desk. Great stay!

Following the reviews of Top Rated restaurants in Monterey, we were eager to visit and sample some “standards” as well as unique dishes. The evening began with excellent service courtesy of our waiter, Salome. We are very appreciative of his attention to detail, having preemptively identified our needs to the effect of immediately addressing any of our requests. The food was absolutely AMAZING. This is one of those establishments where you can venture outside your comfort zone with confidence! The accompanying sauces accentuated flavors rather than overpowering, including ones that my palate typically fears. I was very pleased with my standard well cocktail (the flavors well balanced, and whatever well selection they use is perfect for a mixed drink. The specialty cocktail was very impressive; a subtle Mesquite addition to the Old Fashioned was a great choice! All in all, I highly recommend this spot, and will definitely return. Cute upscale motel. Room was nice and service great. It pays to get the extra space with the room with a fireplace. Location on the edge of downtown but with ample parking is nice.
